Housekeepers are Entitled to Overtime Pay

Domestic workers, including housekeepers and nannies, are entitled to overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York’s Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. Live-in domestic workers are exempt from the FLSA’s overtime requirement, but New York mandates overtime pay after 44 hours of work for live-in workers.
